About Sir Chuy Creative

“Learn the rules like a pro, so you break them like an artist.”

~ Pablo Picasso

Sir Chuy (pronounced "chewy") Creative is actually Christopher G. Higgins, an artist with over 20 years experience in digital media production and a passionate musician.

Christopher started his music career at an early age and later studied music performance in college. After graduating with a bachelor of arts in music, he began his professional career in web and digital media development while continuing to perform and direct music programs in local churches and later earned his master of science in music technology.

Chris works full-time as a multimedia and interactive designer for an Indianapolis consulting company and as the director of music for an Indianapolis church. He is a member of the The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and the American Choral Directors Association.

What's with the name, "Sir Chuy"?

If you've ever attended college, you know that nicknames are almost unavoidable.

In his early college years, Chris participated in a social service club (or fraternity, if you like - social "fraternities" by name were not allowed at this particular institution). The club was based on a theme of Arthurian chivalry in which members were referred to as "knights." Chris' nickname became "chuy", which is a Mexican slang for "cool dude" as well as being a short form name for "Jesús". It also could possibly be a reference to a certain famous hairy creature in a movie about space and wars. In any case, the nickname stuck and, as protocol in the club demanded, he was later referred to as "Sir Chuy."
